Editorial dear readers The new Coronavirus has closed all of us and our daily private and professional lives in an iron-like grip. So especially now, communication is vital. Here at bioplastics MAGAZINE, like all our colleagues from the trade press, we are doing our best to provide reliable information that is as upto-date as possible. Our newsletters and the printed magazine are being published as scheduled. In addition, as the logistics and postal services around the globe are also suffering from delays, we are offering this issue of bioplastics MAGAZINE as a free pdf download for everyone. We hope you get the printed version soon. The past weeks also saw a slew of events such as trade fairs, conferences and meetings being postponed, cancelled or held online. Please find an updated event calendar on page 57, which is also updated on a daily basis on our website. And failing all our normal opportunities to meet, talk and to exchange information, we like to think that bioplastics MAGAZINE – in print or pdf – in combination with our daily news on the website and our bi-weekly newsletter makes it possible for you to stay informed and to reach your target group with articles and news from your company or institution, no matter where you are located. This issue features Thermoforming/ Rigid Packaging and Bioplastics in Agriculture/Horticulture as editorial highlights. The promised show previews for Chinaplas and Interpack had to be postponed, as were the trade fairs themselves. Our own 6 th PLA World Congress had to be rescheduled, too, and will now take place on 7-8 October in Munich, Germany. Whether or not the 2 nd PHA platform World Congress in September will also need to be postponed will be decided later this spring. I’m writing this editorial in my sunny winter garden, and chances are that you are also at home when reading this. Maybe you’ll find a little bit more time to read this. And if you are hungry for more, check out some of the older issues of bioplastics MAGAZINE at our new ePaper-Kiosk at epaper.bioplasticsmagazine.com or in our brand new app (see p. 17 for details). EcoComunicazione.it WWW.MATERBI.COM In any case, we hope you enjoy reading bioplastics MAGAZINE. We are optimistic and look forward to seeing you - somewhere, sometime - later this year. Stay healthy!
